George grew up in Bexley, Ohio and graduated from Bexley High School in 1967. He then went on to The Ohio State University (1968-1972), earning a Bachelor of Science degree in real estate. Following graduation he embarked on what would be a phenomenally successful real estate career, spanning almost 55 years. At a very young age he was sent to Hong Kong with The Galbreath Companies to head-up the leasing division for what at the time was the worlds highest density housing development. After several years he returned to Columbus and married Susan Galbreath Pryor on May 14,1977. Soon thereafter, he was solicited to return to Hong Kong to be the leasing coordinator for the newly built New World Trade Center. When he arrived they almost sent him home as they thought they were hiring someone in their fifties based on his resume and level of experience. George was 29 years old. He convinced them to let him stay and prosper. In 1987 George was asked to return to Columbus to start a real estate brokerage firm and play a major role in the acquisition and development for the New Albany project. First Intercontinental Realty was started in 1987 and George was hugely instrumental in the dignified, successful and continued development of New Albany for many many years. It would take a book to list his professional accomplishments.
George was quick with a smile, he was quick with a joke. He was a warm and witty conversationalist, and would never shy away from sharing his personal opinions or viewpoints. You ALWAYS knew where you stood with George. George was a strong man inside and out. He knew how to make the world his own. His travels, his passions, his love for family, friends and life took him in many directions. And when this world handed him struggles and hardships that no person should have to face, George persevered and modeled how a person can demonstrate tremendous commitment and grace to family in the face of such adversity.
