He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Earl, with whom he loved to spend time.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted friend and beloved caregiver, Brenda, her family whom he considered his own, his longtime service coordinator, Cindy, his guardian, Kelly, and other support team members who helped him live the life he wanted.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, from 1pm until 2pm at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230, with Gene’s service beginning at 2pm. Private interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, March 11.

Family encourages guests to wear Ohio State attire to honor Gene's memory and his passion for Ohio State sports.

Gene will be greatly missed, but his memory will be forever cherished in the hearts and minds of those who loved him.
