Dr. "EJ" Jones

EJ was a dedicated Doctor, Board Certified in Family Medicine and in Addiction Medicine. She has practiced in Ohio over 35 years. EJ graduated from the OSU College of Medicine, Columbus, Cum Laude with her M.D. in 1981. She was a member of AOA Honorary Society, Receilved Honors in Basic Medical Sciences, Pre-Clinical Sciences, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Psychiatry Radiology, and Pharmacology. She also received the Family Medicine Award and the Psychiatry Award. EJ graduated Summa Cum Laude as class Valedictorian of the University of Akron in 1978. She was a member of the Phi Sigma Alpha Honorary.

Most recently EJ was employed by MediSave Clinic, E. Campus View Blvd., Columbus where she practiced both Addiction Medicine and Family Practice. She was dedicated to working with addicts and was one of the first in the Columbus area to begin using Suboxone with Opiate addicts. She also loved teaching, and taught Addiction Medicine Modules at OSU College of Medicine.

EJ also loved to travel and explore new places. She loved to visit warm climates where there was also a sandy beach and the sound of the ocean. She would swim, snorkel, scuba, go on water and land excursions./ She swam with the big green turtles in Kauai, watched the lava flow into the ocean and kissed dolphins on the Big Island. She also loved photography and took beautiful pictures wherever she was. That’s where she was the happiest on vacation, she loved Hawaii. When at home, EJ loved to garden, plant flowers and re-arrange the landscape each summer.

EJ was an avid fan of OSU football and Women’s’ basketball. She had a kind heart and a dry sense of humor (which sometimes got her into a little bit of trouble). She was compassionate, caring, loyal, and always put 110% into everything she did. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by many.

EJ is survived by her loving wife, Valerie McGuire; children, Christopher Jones, Eric McGuire; niece, Ashleigh (Ralston) Alexander; nephews, Andrew and Avery Ralston;

A visitation for EJ will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, 1051 E Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Clark State Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230.
