Carole Elaine Hoffman, 74, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2022. Carole was born and raised in Ft. Wayne, IN. She studied Nursing at Grace College in Winona Lake, IN. She proudly referred to herself as a "momma bear" to her three sons, Justin, Travis, and Tyler, and her niece Renée. She was very active in her church and community where she touched many lives, including the founding of the Moms in Prayer and Marine Moms groups. She was actively involved in the Gold Star organization after her son Justin was killed in action in 2005. She was an initial founding participant of the Lima Company Memorial (Eyes of Freedom).
She had friends in every age group, and she regarded everyone as family. She prayed with, and for, them at every opportunity. She especially enjoyed sacred music, travelling, cruising, cooking, and organizing family and other gatherings. She was a "master shopper." She was best friends with her husband Charles, whom she married on October 13, 2001. They lived near Pataskala, OH. She brought out the best in him, and he in her. Carole is survived by her loving husband Charles A. Hoffman; sons, Travis (Jessica) Hoffman and Tyler (Lydia) Hoffman; Grandchildren Madison, Reagan, Ronin and Lyla; niece, Renee Granier; Stepchildren Charles (Alex) Hoffman and Kathleen “Kate” (Charles Cook) Hoffman; brothers Greg Leiter and Daren Leiter. She is predeceased by her son Justin Hoffman and parents Bert H and Iris L Leiter of Hemet CA.
A Memorial service will be begin at 5pm on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Jersey Baptist Church, 13260 Morse Rd, New Albany, OH 43054 followed by a graveside service at 10am on Wednesday, November, 9, 2022 at Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH 43035.
