On Thursday, September 22, 2022, Anne Mary Hartley, loving mother of four and grandmother of five, passed away unexpectedly at age eighty. The family is deeply saddened. Anne was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing.
Anne was predeceased by her parents, Joan and Leo Newbold, and her brother, Peter Newbold. She is survived by her brother, Paul Newbold; her children: Anthony Hartley Nicola Hartley-Jackson, Michele Delman, and Christopher Hartley; and her grandchildren: Julia Jackson, Sasha Delman, Paige Delman, Tyler Jackson, and Jackson Hartley.
A creative, nature-loving soul, Anne prided herself on her continuous education, massage therapy, photography, candle-making, and caring for her cheerful and diverse garden. Anne will forever be remembered as kind and curious, a lifelong learner. She attended St. Thomas Nursing College in London, England, earned her LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) at the Central Ohio School of Massage, and later became certified as a neuromuscular therapist. Anne provided massage therapy in her home office and at New Albany Country Club and Acupuncture Healing Clinic in Clintonville to clients in need of relief, priding herself on her ability to help when nothing else had.
Anne raised her family across three continents, where she maintains friendships. She loved visiting her mother country of England regularly, where she met with family and friends and enjoyed holidays at the seaside, even traveling to mainland Europe on several trips to Italy, Switzerland, and France with her brother, Paul.
Although life threw many adversities in Anne’s path, she persevered and thrived with classic British fortitude. We will miss her more than words can convey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 8th, at 4:30 pm in the gardens of Friendship Park in Gahanna, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead donate, in Anne’s name, to a cause that was meaningful to your relationship with her.
