Members of the family of Andre “Andy” Godin announce his passing at Mt. Carmel East Hospital on January 12, 2024 from complications of a stroke. Andy was born on November 20, 1934 in West Warwick, RI to Andre and Aurora (Forcier) Godin, who preceded him in death. Andy leaves his beloved wife of 70 years, Eileen Silva Godin, along with daughters, Cynthia (Scot) Burbacher of Circleville, Andrea Bryant of New Albany, Patricia (Tim) Starling of Reynoldsburg and son, Jim (Christy) Godin of Columbus. Andy was blessed with nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. After his high school graduation, Andy joined the United States Air Force and after his training in electronics was assigned to Ethan Allen Air Force Base in Burlington, VT (Andy also continued his service to his country later by working as a Trainer for the Board of Elections). Andy retired after 30 years from ABB Industrial Systems, Westerville, OH. While there he was a Technical Trainer and Technical Support Engineer. He was an active Credit Union member, community Board member, loved to read, paint and draw. Andy was an avid Boston Red Sox, Chicago Bears and Ohio State sports fan.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, from 2pm-5pm at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following morning, January 22, at 11am at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Rd., in Gahanna. Services will conclude with interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Lewis Center.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Disabled American Veterans in his name.
