Mrs. Virginia Estelle Griffin

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Virginia Estelle Griffin, 95, Southside, who passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010. Lauil Thompson will officiate with burial at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Mrs. Griffin was a native of Calhoun County and a longtime resident of Etowah County. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, reading, crochet and working in her flowers. Those preceding her in death were her husband, Fred Griffin; daughter, Patricia Dickens; and sons, Ronnie and Freddy Griffin.

She is survived by her daughters, Glenda (Chuck) Lynn, Boaz, and Virginia (Lonnie) Childers, Arab; son, Bobby Griffin, Southside; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.

The family extends a special thanks to Lauil Thompson and Wes Ingram for your visits and prayers; much love and thanks to the nurses and CNAs at Attalla Health Care Center for the wonderful care you gave our mother and your "maw maw."

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
