Sadie Louise Christopher McMeekin

Funeral services will be today at 1 p.m., at Collier-Butler Chapel for Sadie Louise Christopher McMeekin, 94, of Southside, who passed away Friday, Jan. 29, 2016. The Revs Lauil Thompson, Bob Thornton and Bill Drummons will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.Mrs. McMeekin was a homemaker and avid gardener who was known for her flowers and her love for the dogs that she raised.She was preceded in death by her husband, T.W. McMeekin; parents, Charles and Leila Sewell Christopher; brothers, Charles Jr., Al Henry, Lloyd Lee and Harold; sister, Frances Kirkland; and her great-granddaughter, Jessica Grace McMeekin.Survivors include her son, Thomas (Harriet) McMeekin; daughter, Sara (Felton) Whitt; grandchildren, Abby (Bill) Brindley, Steven (Crystal) McMeekin, Donna (Bill) Sandler, Michael (Cindy) Burns; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard (Dorothy) Christopher, Jerry Christopher; sisters-in-law, Eunice Christopher, Iris Christopher, Patricia Christopher, Frances McGuire and Wynona Weddington.Pallbearers will be family members.Special thanks to Dr. Ralph Wesley and caregivers, Kim Fuhrman and Sherry Cox.The family will receive guests from noon until the hour of service.Online condolences may be made to the family at www.collier-butler.com.
