Rosa L. Owens

A private Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 08, 2020 at Collier-Butler

The funeral service will be broadcast live on Facebook on the Collier-Butler Funeral Home page at 12:30pm.

Rosa was the daughter of the late Odell and Alice Owens. She was born on August 22, 1933 in Dekalb County, Ft. Payne, Alabama. At an early age, she moved to Gadsden, Alabama. She confessed her faith in Christ and united with Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. R.B. Martin. Rosa received her education from Carver High School where she graduated in 1951. She joined the Galilee Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. G.E. Robinson were she remained a faithful member until sickness caused her to leave church. She later joined Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Larry Weathers. Rosa remained faithful and answered the Saviors call until she went home to take her rest.

Rosa united in holy matrimony to the late Horace Harris. Four children were born, two preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish their loving memories her daughter, Beverly (Dewayne) Ragland; and son, Jorie L. (Rita) Harris, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Antioch Baptist Church, 2103 East Broad Street Gadsden, Alabama
