Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel. Brian Ware will officiate with special music by Patricia Brown. Eulogy will be given by Andrea Cook. The family will receive friends on Saturday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.

Neil was born March 13, 1926 to R.V. and Della Cooper in New Hope, AL. He graduated from New Hope High School in 1947 and married his high school sweetheart, Dollie Baker on October 14, 1947. Together they had two sons, Bobby and Terry.
Mr. Cooper was a decorated World War II Veteran serving in the U S Navy from 1943-1946 (U.S.S. Dallas-199).
He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and loved camping at Guntersville State Park.
He had a positive impact on many young people during his many years as a coach of youth league baseball and football in Walnut Park and Alabama City.
Mr. Cooper was employed at Birmingham-Slag Company (later Vulcan Materials) for 48 years. He was a member of West End Baptist Church and a fan of the Atlanta Braves and Alabama Football.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Cooper; his parents; brothers, Lurlyn, Billy, Jimmy, and Gary Cooper.
Survivors include his sons, Bobby Cooper (the late Yvonne Cooper); and Terry Cooper (Sheila); brother, Leonard Cooper; grandchildren, Bradlie Ware (Brian), Terry Cooper, Jr, (Brandy), Patrick Cooper (Haley) and Andrea Cook (Walker); great grandchildren, Derrick Bowling, Jr (Kelsey), Phoenix Cooper, Cooper Cook, Livy Kate Cook, Parker Cook, Lyla Weaver, Bella Williams, Brianna Holderfield (Scott), Austin Ware and Tanner Ware; great great grandchildren, Crimson Holderfield, Lane Holderfield, Gabrielle Ware, Gavin, Kirstin, and Abby Holderfield; numerous special nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Johnnie Cooper; devoted friends, Patricia and Layfayette Brown.

Pallbearers will be Terry Cooper, Jr., Patrick Cooper, Derrick Bowling, Jr., Cooper Cook, Michael Cooper and Walker Cook.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Roberson, former co-employees of Vulcan Materials, Brian Ware and all former ball players who played for Mr. Cooper.
