Ray V. LeCroy

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 27th, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Ray Vernon LeCroy, 75, of Gadsden, who passed away Saturday, August 24th, 2013, as a result of a recent injury. The Rev. James Quarles and the Rev. T.V. Burroughs will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Mr. LeCroy was born in Centre, AL. He graduated from Gadsden High School in 1956. Ray and Emma met at Sims Grocery, where he worked as a butcher and later he retired from UPS. He served in the Air National Guard and the Reserves. He was a Christian and attended Rainbow City Church of God. He loved to talk and he never met a stranger. He always loved animals, and he enjoyed camping and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his father, Stanley LeCroy; mother, Allene LeCroy Latham; Stepdad, A.B. Latham; Father and Mother in law, Frank Russell Sims and Lola Sims; Brother, Hugh LeCroy; Grandchildren, Jaydon James, and Maggie Emmaleah Quarles.

He is survived by his Wife, Emma Lou Sims LeCroy; Daughters, Pam (Leonard) Greene, Kim Buchanan, Lana (James) Quarles; Grandchildren, Andrew Buchanan, Heather, Chase, Evan, and Josh Greene; Sister, Verna (Gene) Wright; Sister-in-law, Barbara Hood; several nieces and nephews and special pets Sam and Tinkerbell.

Pallbearers will be Gary Wright, Jeff Hood, Chase Greene, Evan Greene, Josh Greene, Andrew Buchanan, Cully Roden, Mark Roden, and Mike LeCroy.

Honorary Pallbearers will be past and present employees of UPS (United Parcel Service), Travis Greene, and Frankie H. Schomberg.

Special thanks to Susie Eubanks, Cathy Hicks, Keith Buchanan, Ann Coley, Etowah Co. Home Health, Rural Metro, Dr. Henry Born and staff-Judy, Jana, and Amy. Special thanks to Fairview Baptist, Rainbow City Church of God, and many other churches, friends, and family for their acts of kindness, words of wisdom, encouragement, and prayers.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 26th, from 6-8 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
