Ralph Awtry Whittemore

Funeral Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. Ralph Awtry Whittemore, 82, of Ashville, Al who passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017. Rev. Terry Tibbs will officiate. Burial will be at Gum Springs Cemetery, Ashville.

Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.

Mr. Whittemore had worked in Upholstry Business with Queen City Furniture. He later began his 26.2 year career with General Motors and for the last 15 years had worked cutting grass at Gum Springs and Slasham Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Steve Whittemore and Gail (Ricky) Martin; sisters, Dorothy Nichols, Doris Collier and Grace Jordan.

Pallbearers will be Steve Whittemore; DeWayne Whittemore; Robert Kitchens; Jack McBurnett; Charlie Whittemore and Ricky Martin.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Kindred Hospice of Birmingham, AL, nurse, Angie Berry, who was our angel from heaven; Jeannine Davidson (Social Worker),we couldn’t have done it without her and all the aids were totally amazing.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
