She loved her church, Union Hill United Methodist Church, where she was raised, baptized, and later was married. She later had 3 boys, who were each baptized there and brought up in the church. Through the years, she held every position possible. Her faith, and church meant everything to her.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Marvin Thomas; parents, S.E. and Annie Mae Simmons; brothers, Thomas, Bill, and Larry Simmons; sister, Doris Wade; and precious grandson Phillip Thomas.
She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Lisa) Thomas, Barry Thomas, Mark (Crystal) Thomas; grandchildren, Tyler Thomas, Emily (Tyler) Ezzell, Bailey and Ryan Thomas; great-grandchildren, Bradley and Breland Thomas, Layla and Lily Ezzell; and several precious nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Union Hill United Methodist Church at 2905 Tidmore Rd, Gadsden, AL, 35901. The family requests casual attire.
Special thanks to everyone who called to check on her, Amedysis Hospice, Dr. Thomas Harper, and very special nephew, Ricky Simmons because he “loved his Aunt Peg.”
