Patricia Latham Williams, age 69, passed away peacefully June 16, 2016, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. The oldest of three children, she was born on February 4, 1947, in Gadsden, to Johnnie and Laverne (Estes) Latham. She graduated from Emma Samson High School in 1965 and attended Jacksonville State University. She married and enjoyed being a stay home mom when her two daughters were young. Her faith was an important part of her life and she was an active member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Southside Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Patricia worked as an Import Manager at Fruit of the Loom corporate offices in Bowling Green after the family moved to Kentucky. In 1994, she moved to Louisville where she continued employment in the logistics field and served in various civic and social organizations. Supporting the arts was a lifelong priority. She touched those around her with her positive attitude and passion for life. Patricia’s greatest joy was caring for her family. She also enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and spoiling her grandchildren. After retiring, Patricia returned to Alabama to help care for her aging parents, both of whom preceded her in death. Left to honor Patricia and remember her love are daughters, Chere (John) Wood and Michelle (Todd) Joseph; grandchildren, Nicholas Wood, Isabella Wood, and Donovan Joseph; brother, Johnny Latham, Jr.; sister, Connie (Tommy) Sewell; nephews, Daniel Sewell, and Nathan (Amber) Sewell; niece, Lydia Sewell; and special cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, Alabama. Burial will follow at Williams Southside Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at Collier-Butler from noon until the time of the service.
