Beloved mother, wife and grandmother, Neita Taylor passed away on August 21, 2024. Neita was born in Anniston, AL in 1931 to Evelyn and William Dub Moore. She grew up in Anniston and went to Auburn University, where she graduated in 1953 with a degree in education. Neita was a lifelong die-hard War Eagle. She moved to Gadsden, AL in 1965 with her husband, Jim and their three children. Neita was a teacher at Litchfield High School for nine years. She was active in the First Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and was very proud to be the past chairman of the administrative board. She donated her golf skills to the Gift to Gadsden for many years. Neita was very active in the golf and tennis community. She loved her ladies 60-year sewing group, her friends, and her church, but her family was the most important aspect of her life.
She was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and Dub Moore, her sister Judy, and her beloved husband, Jim, to whom she was married to for 51 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Taylor (Rebecca), Atlanta, Ga, daughter Margaret Taylor (Martha), Atlanta, Ga, and son Allen Taylor (Katherine) Rosemary Beach, Fl, grandson Jim Taylor, Paris, France, granddaughter, Nancy Webster (Seth), Mobile, Al and great grandsons Sam and Charlie Webster.
A service to honor and celebrate Neita's life will be held at First United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. Graveside service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Gadsden, AL.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Neita's loving and devoted caregivers, especially Jana Gilbert (Janann) and Virginia Reeves, who filled her last years with joy. We also want to thank the hospice nurses, social worker, and preacher that focused on her care, comfort, and quality of life and Neita's incredible friends, who gave her steady support and love throughout this time.
Neita (mom) will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
