Michael Andrew Thompson, 31, Birmingham, passed away on July 7, 2018. Funeral Services will be at 3 pm on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Collier-Butler Chapel, with burial at Williams Southside Memorial Park. Rev. Michael Jackson and Rev. Lauil Thompson officiating.

Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.

Andrew is a 2005 graduate of Southside High School, and graduated from Jacksonville State University with a degree in Marketing. He was previously employed by Alabama Power and Gulf Power, and most recently employed at Edward Jones Investments. He loved college football, especially his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a member of Tide Pride with season tickets, and a member of the Red Elephant Club. RTR

Andrew is preceded in death by: grandmother, Nancy Thompson; great-grandparents James Hester, and Gartrell and Judy Thompson; and step-grandfather, Leon Tilley.

Survivors include his parents, Gregg and Candi Thompson; siblings, Brinley and Brooklynn Thompson, and Logan and Cara Baker; grandparents, Lauil and Faye Thompson, and Ronnie and Janice Cornutt; great-grandmother, Margaret Hester; aunts and uncles, Joy and Dean Perryman, Chris and Kathy Thompson, Joan and Lamar Coker, Vicki Hester, Kim Hester, Susan Shanlever, Lois Sauer and Corri and Nathan Edwards; cousins, Morgan (Aaron) Shelnutt, Jacob and Peyton Coker, Emma Thompson, and Daniel and Ella Edwards; and his beloved dog, Alice.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Mincey, Donny Lukima, Cedarrius Johnson, Steven Freeman, Chris Thompson, and Lamar Coker.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 11 am – 3 pm at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, with the funeral to follow.
