Mary Maxine Isbell Wilson, 90, died Thursday, November 10, 2011. She was a member of Gadsden First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Saturday, November 12 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery in Fort Payne, Alabama with the Reverend Roger Thompson officiating.
Mrs. Wilson was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She moved to Gadsden in 1947 after her marriage to Dr. Ralph W. Wilson, to whom she was married for 55 years, until his death in 2002. She loved her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren.
In addition to Dr. Wilson, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her son, David Wesley Wilson and her brother Maurice Isbell. She was also the last remaining of her generation in the large Wilson family into which she married.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Rex and Robin Wilson, and her daughter and son-in-law, Sissie and Dave Jensen. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lindsey Wilson, Leah Wilson, Dr. David Talbert and his wife Katie, Christi Talbert, Kate Jensen and Coby Jensen. Other survivors include sister-in-law Alice Isbell and a host of nieces and nephews, including special niece Charlotte Doyle and special nephew Larry Beatus, as well as longtime beloved friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Leukemia Society of America, Gadsden First United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
