Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Collier Butler Chapel for Mary Lucille Cornutt Rickles, 92, who went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 11, 2017. The Rev. Jan Stanley will officiate.
Mrs. Rickles was born on May 12, 1924, a native of Etowah County. She was a member of East Gadsden Church of God and attended Cathedral of Praise.
During her lifetime, Mrs. Rickles traveled and did missionary work with her husband, the Rev. James C. Rickles. Together, they served many churches in the western part of the United States.
She had a beautiful voice and sang for many years while playing the accordion. She was very dedicated to her music ministry and sang for many organizations and churches.
She was a member of Eastern Star, Alabama City Chapter.
Mary Lucille was a true Christian and helped many people to the Lord. She was loving and dedicated to her friends and family.
Mrs. Rickles was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. James C. Rickles; son, Larry Rickles; grandson, Larry Joe Rickles; parents, Emmett Cornutt Sr. and Ida Cornutt; brothers, Donnie Cornutt, James Cornutt, Elbert Cornutt, Emmett Cornutt Jr. and Alta Cornutt.
Mary Lucille is survived by her son, Jerry (Jane) Rickles; grandchildren, Scott (Heather) Rickles, Linze (Ryan) McRae; great-grandchildren, Casey Rickles, Mary Ann Rickles, Miles Rickles, Azalea McRae, Eve McRae, Landon Rickles, Allister Rickles; daughter-in-law, Peggy Rickles; sister, Temple Mackey; brother, Hansel Cornutt.
Honorary pallbearers will be ministers of the Church of God, special friend Neoma Griffin, and prayer group friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home before the services at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Flowers will be received.
