Mary Elizabeth Phillips

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesdy, August 1, 2018 at Bellevue Baptist Church for Mary Elizabeth Phillips, age 81, of Gadsden who passed away Friday, July 20, 2018. She will Lie in State from 12:00-1:00pm Rev. Roger Graham will officiate. Burial will be at Williams-Southside Memorial Park. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mary was born in Akron Ohio and moved to Gadsden in 1962. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a faithful member of Bellevue Baptist Church and dearly loved her church family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Leon Phillips; parents, Eugene and Margaret Kozlowski; sons, Doug Phillips and Daniel Phillips; and great-granddaughter, Breanne Tidmore.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Alan) Stansfield; daughter-in-law, Carmela Phillips and Tina Phillips; grandchildren, Brooke Tidmore, Arica (Bryan) Schmied, Brandon (Laura) Chandler, Rachael Benzel, Zach (Lauren) Phillips, Ryan Chandler, Rebecca (Mike) Cianciatto, Michelle (Matt) Mayo, and Christine Phillips; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Tidmore, Ava, Tara and Tessa Schmied, Riley and Kellan Benzel, Cole Phillips, Noah and Catherine Chandler, Jack and Aubrey Cianciatto, Audrey and Addilyn Mayo, and Carson Reid; sister, Dorothy Pope; brothers, Don (Maralyn) Kozlowski, Paul (Lois) Kozlowski; sisters-in-law, Janice (Charles) Johnson and Glenda (Bob) Brown; and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Pallbearers will be Brandon and Ryan Chandler, Zach Phillips, Matthew Mayo, Russell Machen and Marvin Walker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Adult IV Department, Open Arms Sunday School Class.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Bellevue Baptist Church.
