Mary Wynell Noojin

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mary Wynell Noojin, 90, of Gadsden, who passed way Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Rev. Roger Graham will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Nell was born March 15, 1925 and raised on Sand Mountain but lived most of her life in Gadsden. She lived at the Holy Comforter House for the past eight years and loved everyone there. Nell was married to James M. Noojin for 59 and 1/2 years until his death. James retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 31 years. Nell worked at Goodyear until children came for her to care for. Then in the 1970’s she went to work at Gadsden State Community College and retired after 26 years of service. Nell loved working in the church nursery with the “little ones” and cooking meals in the kitchen with Louise. Nell was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church for over 50 years and loved all of the activities there.

Nell was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Noojin; parents, John and Clara Chumley; and siblings, Frances Tollison, Sue Noojin, Gail Milwee, and John E. Chumley.

She is survived by her children, Aleda (Gary) Isenhower, and Tommy (Loretta) Noojin; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Bennie Gregory.

Pallbearers will be Ben Isenhower, Tripp Griffin, Perry Lemley, Neal Wisdom, Tony Gregory, and Nicholas Parden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bellevue Baptist Church.
