Mary Tehaiti McAteer

Graveside services will be 2:00 Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Forrest Cemetery for Mary Tehaiti Durham McAteer, 74, of Gadsden, who passed away Monday, March 18, 2013. Rev. John Henderson will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mrs. McAteer was a native of Etowah County and a graduate of Emma Sansom High School. She retired from Bellsouth with over 25 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Brian Hughes McAteer; and parents Richard and Mary Alma Durham.

She is survived by her son, Michael Duane McAteer; daughter, Sharon Turner (Martin) Owen; grandchildren: Cody (Kayla), Megan, Jordy Hannah, Jeff (Laura), Chris, Mark (Kristen), Robby (Jill); and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Special thanks to Jill, Laura and Megan for the loving and tender care they provided, and also to Cathy Crow for her love, compassion and support.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 12:30-1:30 at the funeral home.
