Mrs. Roberts was a longtime member of St. James Catholic Church.
She first worked as a clerk at her father’s store in Aurora, AL, then later, with Governor Big Jim Folsom after moving to Cullman. There she met the love of her life, Rowdy Red Roberts, the Wrestler. They married in 1955 and in 1957 welcomed the birth of her only child Mary Elizabeth. She worked for Redstone Arsenal until 1963. Afterward she worked 25 years for the Board of Education and retired to life with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Roberts Martin; son-in-law, Michael Martin; granddaughter, Maghan McGuire and grandson-in-law, Phillip McGuire. She also had many adopted grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or Kindred Hospice.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Kindred Hospice, especially, Sharon, Jan, Hannah, Savannah, Tiffany, Nicole and Marlena.
There will not be a visitation or service.
