Funeral Service for Mrs. Linda Newton Gardner, 71, of Gadsden who passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Collier-Butler Chapel with Bro. Rick Reaves officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, Jacksonville.
Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.
Mrs. Gardner was a 1964 graduate of Southside High School. She retired as Post Master of the Fruit Hurst Post Office after appx 15 years of service. Mrs. Gardner was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the Encouragers Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Gardner and parents, Fred and Audrey Newton.
Survivors include her children, Kim Gardner (Jamie) Gladden and Kevin (Jillian) Gardner, grandchildren, Reid Gladden, Renn Gladden, Kasen Gardner and Easton Gardner, brother, Eugene Fred Newton, Houston ,TX and twin sister, Glenda Mathias, FL, niece, Cindi Norton Gilliom and several other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be; Jamie and Reid Gladden, Larry Bridges, Randy Brooks, Sonny McCarter and Dale Roberson.
The family will accept flowers of memorials may be made to the UAB Cancer Center.
Special thanks is extended to the UAB Division of Hematology/Onocology Department and the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and the staff and Drs. With the Gadsden Cancer Center.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
