Leslie "Bubba" Forney Kirby III, age 71, of Southside, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 08, 2023 at 2:00pm at Collier-Butler Chapel.
Rev. Danny Poss will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
Bubba was born in Talladega, Alabama on April 09, 1952 to Leslie Forney Kirby, Jr. and Sarah Adair Patterson Kirby, who both preceded him in death. He was raised in Ohatchee, Alabama.
Bubba was an avid gardener. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends every Friday night. He also loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Church of the Highlands. He retired from ALL Crane Rental in 2021. Bubba enjoyed volunteering at the Big Oak Boys Ranch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lucretia Jane Doyal and step-brother, Brett Scott.
Bubba is survived by his wife of 42 years, Deanna Kirby; sister, Virginia (Billy) Witcher; nieces, Ginger (Paul) Lasseter, Rhonda Doyal, Amy (Chris) Moon and Lena (Kevin) Siebel; nephews, Chris (Shanna) Witcher, Matthew (Serenity) Stull; cousin, Kirby (Linda) Tucker; brothers-in-law, Ray (Kay) Stull, and David Stull; step-mother, JoAnn Kirby; step-brothers, Jeff Scott, Vance Scott and step-sister, Cathy Rutledge. He is survived by many great nieces and nephews in Alabama and Oregon.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Oncology Department and the Palliative Care Unit at UAB Hospital.
