Larry Wayne Stone

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 07, 2015 at 11:00am at Collier-Butler Chapel.

Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.

Rev. David Chandler will officiate.

Mr. Stone was a graduate of Gadsden High Scholl Class of 1973 where he was a member of the Tiger Band and the Thespian Society. After graduation Larry joined the United States Navy and served as a Hospital Corpsman. Larry was stationed most of his career in California at Camp Pendleton when he was not deployed on a ship or submarine. Larry received the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for Heroism while serving with the Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron, deployed aboard the USS PELELIU. He retired from the US Navy on August 31, 1993 after 20 years of service to his country.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Doris Stone.

Survivors include his daughter, Samantha Stone of Wilmington, N.C.; brother, Hiram Stone; sister, Linda Hutchinson; several aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Pricilla Keith, Larry’s best friend who was always by his side.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 07, 2015 from 9:30-11am prior to service.
