Kenneth Clay Ellis Sr, 88, went home on July 5,2021. The funeral service will be at 11 AM on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Collier Butler Chapel. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Rev. Larry Fuhrman will officiate. Collier Butler Funeral Home will direct services.
He was born March 7,1933 in Cedartown, GA to the late WC and Willie J Ellis. Kenneth was married to Vivian Cornutt Ellis who predeceased him. They were married for 60 years. He graduated from Emma Samson High School, attended Auburn University and Jacksonville State University, he was in the US Army and a Korean Era Veteran, retired from Gulf States Steel and owned Ellis Used Parts and Wrecker Service. Kenneth was loved by everyone who knew him. He was known by Pappy or KC to all of his grandchildren/ friends. He made a mark in everyone's life that he came in contact with. In his leisure time he loved being with his grandkids, family and friends and anything to do with cars.
Kenneth is survived by his sons; Dr. Kenneth Clay (Cathy) Ellis Jr., Loren Jaye (Nicole)Ellis; brother, George Radford (Carol) Ellis; grandchildren, Dr. Cynthia Ellis (Dr. Mark) Hill, Dr. Catherine Ellis (Dr. Brant) Haynie, Dr. Cantrell Ellis(Jared) Lowe, Alyssa Nicole, Katlyne Grace and Colten Jaye Ellis; nephews, Bret Radford (Kristie) Ellis, Bart Landon (Erin) Ellis.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Brenda (Cornutt ) and Carl Stedham; nine great-grandchildren and four great nephews.
