Julie was a retired Registered Respiratory Therapist with a green thumb and a heart of gold. She loved deeply and fought fiercely for the people in her life. She enjoyed tending to her flower beds and plants, trading with her friends at Rainbow City Hall and searching for treasures at area thrift stores. It was her special joy to find a unique “surcee” to share with those she cared for that let them know she was thinking of them. Her generous spirit and kind soul will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and by her parents, Gene and Jerrie Ann Mackey.
Julie is survived by her husband, Bruce Cornutt,; daughter, Tanner Adams; stepdaughters, Haley (Rai) Avery and Emily (Ben) Ingram; grandchildren, Railey and Adriann Avery, Gracie, Sarah, Ella and Benny Ingram; brother, Randy Mackey; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Betty Cornutt; sister-in-law, Cheri (Art) Oravet; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.
Special thanks to the staff of Southern Care Hospice and to Tanner Adams for personal care of her Mother during the final two months of her life.
Julie was a Believer and because of the hope we have in Jesus Christ she is now reunited with her parents and others gone before. Those of us who remain are comforted by the knowledge we will be with her again one day soon.
