Julia H. Gustin

Julia H. Gustin, age 89, of Hokes Bluff, Alabama passed away on Saturday, October 05, 2024. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m at Collier-Butler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery. Rev. Allen Ragan will officiate. The family will accept friends for visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.

While she was able, Julia loved working in her garden. She loved planting flowers; roses were her favorite. Julia loved her children but loved her grandchildren more. She loved raising championship poodles and maltese dogs at Lakeside Kennel. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.J. Gustin; parents, Robert and Linnie Hutt; brothers, Floyd Beauford, Thomas Hutt and Vee Hutt; sister, Faye Moore.

Julia is survived by her sons, Lonnie (Sandy) Hilton and Mike (Susan) Hilton; daughter, Lisa (Allen) Ragan,; chosen daughter, Susan (David) Dawson. 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Gay Upton; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Pallbearers will be A.J. Ragan, Jayden Ragan, Daniel Willett, Evan McCleskey, Jimmy Hutt and Robbie Dawson.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Mickey and Pam Hutt who lovingly took care of mom for the past 8 years; and Dr. Kenny Smith who cared for her for the past 30+years.
