John Harold Sizemore Sr. age 87 passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2021. Mr. Sizemore was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County and a graduate of Glencoe High School. He was a member of the Glencoe United Methodist Church and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber with 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army 3rd Infantry Division stationed at Fort Benning, GA. Mr. Sizemore is survived by his wife of 68 years, Peggy Jean Sizemore; son John H. (Sheena) Sizemore Jr. of Lavonia, GA; son Jeffrey K. Sizemore of Glencoe, AL; daughter Gina Lynn Sizemore of Gadsden, AL. and the love of his life granddaughter Chelsea Lauren Sizemore, Atlanta, GA. The family request no flowers.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Collier Butler Funeral Home in Gadsden, AL. The family will accept friends and family from 1:00 – 2:00 pm preceding the service.
