Mr. Sims was born December 20, 1939 and was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. He is preceded in death by his parents Boss Arnold Sims and Ruth James Sims, brothers; Gene Sims, Mac Sims, Claude Sims Norman Sims and a sister, Elizabeth Haynes.
He is survived by his children Rena (Jeff) Brown, Diana (Ken) Mintz, John Henry Jr., Cindy (Bud) Pledger, and Brian (Kim) Sims. His siblings Evelyn (Harold) Anderson, James (Zola Mae) Sims, Mary Ann (Robert) Stants, and Pat (Pete) Vess.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A private graveside service for the family will be held at Youngs Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 4:00pm.
