Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Jewell Marie Couch, age 89, of Gadsden, who passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Rev. Vince Whittington and Rev. Jack Campbell will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Mrs. Couch was a lifetime member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery for over 60 years and was involved in WMU groups as well as shut-in ministries.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dewey Couch; parents, Vadie and Margie Lay; parents-in-law, Raymond and Florence Couch; son-in-law, Richard Roberson; grandson-in-law, Josh Shelnut; great-grandson, Noah Shelnut; and brothers, Aaron Lay and James Roy Lay.
Mrs. Couch is survived by her daughters, Diane Roberson, Teresa Couch, and Carol (Barry) Collins; grandchildren, Mandy Roberson, Maggie (Jason) Walker, Rebekah (Perry) Walker, Clay (Jennifer) Collins, Brett (Katie) Collins, and Suzanne (Josh) Moore; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Gargus; special niece, Elaine Clement; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Clay Collins, Brett Collins, Josh Moore, Jason Walker, Perry Walker, and Stephen Starr.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the nursery fund at Macedonia Baptist Church, 2040 Macedonia Rd, Gadsden, AL 35901.
