Jessica Downes Gross

Jessica Downes Gross, age 51, of Gadsden, AL passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023. Jessica was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a graduate of Jacksonville State University with a degree in nursing. She started her career at Riverview in 1996 in Labor and Delivery. Later, Jessica became an officer in the United States Air Force before returning to Riverview. She was a dedicated nurse for 28 years.

Jessica was preceded in death by her grandparents Boyd and Fern Stafford, and Williams and Helen Downes; father-in-law, Fred “Buster” Gross; mother-in-law, Cynthia Garmon Gross; and sister-in-law, Celisa Gross Jones.

Jessica is survived by her husband, Barry Gross; children, Cory Gross and Kassi Gross (Cody Beasley); grandchildren, Lillian Epperson and Case Beasley; parents, Carolyn (Matthew) Schroeder and Allen Downes; siblings, Dana Machen, Tess Downes, Holly (Craig) Newton, and Brittney Schroeder; and sister-in-law, Kelly Gross.

A private service will be held by the family.
