GADSEN, Ala. — A memorial service for Mr. Jerry Thomas Deal, Jr., 50, of Gadsen, Ala., will be 12:30 on Saturday in the Chapel at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Jerry passed away Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, unexpectedly after declining health. Revs. Brian Boatright and David Smith will officiate. Cremation services provided by Collier-Butler and Cremation Services.
Jerry was born in Cabarrus County, on Oct 21, 1959, to Jerry Thomas Deal Sr. and Joyce McKinney Deal. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Nancy S. Deal; his son and daughter-n-law, Tom and Lindsey Deal; brothers, Terry (Tina) Deal, Gary (Stephanie) Deal; sister, Debbie (Kevin) Thompson; also, nephews, Hunter, Taylor, and Casey Deal; nieces, Holli Ann Deal, Riley and Lainey Thompson, Stephanie and Amanda McCrory; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Rose Scarboro; sister-in-laws, Cindy Gray, Ramona (Robert) McCrory, and brother-in-law, Steve Partee.
Jerry was a 1978 graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School in Concord, and was self-employed as the owner of Mountain Side Collision in Gadsden, Ala. He was an avid horseback rider who enjoyed hosting annual trail rides. Jerry was known for his generosity and compassion to help others.
He was loved and will be missed by his entire family and those fortunate enough to have known him.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to The Etowah County Humane Society.
The family will be receiving friends from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, Gadsen, Ala.
