Known to his close family and friends as "Jay". He was a gifted welder and some may say he was the best in the state. Jay was a loving and caring father to his two daughters, who will miss him greatly.
Jay was born on August 1, 1969 to the late Jeff Alford and Shirley Alford. He is survived by his two daughters, Jordan Alford and Jody Alford; nieces Jessica Cobb and Jamie Reid. In addition to his parents, Jay is preceded in death by his brothers, Jeff Alford and Joey Alford; grandparents, Florabell Sims, Horace and Hazel Alford.
A visitation for Jay will be held Friday, November 25, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Collier-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, Alabama 35901, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Jay will be laid to rest in Crestwood Cemetery, 2209 E Broad St, Gadsden, Alabama. Pallbearers assisting Jay to his final resting place will include; Brian Bush, Darin Post, Mike Mitchell, Heath Glenn, Shane Gilchrist and Kenny Whitmire. Honorary Pallbearer are Tab Word and Keith Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Gadsden State Welding Program in his honor.
