Jane Witherspoon

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Jane Witherspoon, 87, of Birmingham, who passed away Monday, June 6, 2016. Rev. L. Dale Butler will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Ms. Witherspoon was a 1947 graduate of Gadsden High School and graduated from Ward-Belmont College in 1949 (Phi Theta Kappa). She was employed with Robinson-Adams Insurance in Birmingham for 33 years. Ms. Witherspoon was a member of First United Methodist Church of Birmingham for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvin D. Witherspoon and Olivia B. Witherspoon, Gadsden; brothers, Jack O. Witherspoon, Edward Gary Witherspoon, Donal M. Witherspoon, and George F. Witherspoon; and sisters, Suzanne Young and Elizabeth Bendell.

Ms. Witherspoon is survived by her brothers, E.D. Witherspoon, of Gadsden, Millard B. Witherspoon of Gadsden and Arnold D. Witherspoon, of Deatsville.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
