Inez Evelyn Watkins

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Inez Watkins, 83, of Southside, who went to be with her Lord Thursday, August 21, 2014. Rev. Bud Swindall and Rev. Bobby Lipscomb will officiate. Burial will be at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mrs. Watkins was a loving woman, wife and friend. She always greeted people with a smile and a kind word. She loved helping her husband, Loyd in the Lord’s ministry. She was a member of North Weaver Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and Daughters of the Revolution, where she was Chaplin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ollie Griffin.

She is survived by her husband, Loyd Watkins; sons, Ron Watkins, and Darrell Watkins; four grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; aunt, Frances Jones; several cousins and many friends; and special furry friend, Nick.

Pallbearers will be Charles Black, Alvin Vinson, David Bohannon, Jon parks, Norman Hindman, and Dennis Pentecost.

Special thanks to Dr. H. Peter Jander; Kristie Livingston; and Judy Martin in the Radiology Department of Riverview medical Center.

The family will accept friends Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
