ArranGordon Silvey Snyder, Gadsden, born Sept. 3, 1923, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday July 5, 2017 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. followed by committal at Crestwood Cemetery with military honors. Pastor Jay Stewart will be officiating the service. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Gordon was a proud Marine, having served in four major invasions. He received the Presidential Citation for action in the Marines and the Purple Heart. He retired from Goodyear with 41 years of service. He loved his friends at Elliott Community Center Lunch Bunch, where he lunched daily. He was also a member of Dwight Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Snyder; grandson, Jason Snyder; and his parents; and siblings.
He is survived by his brother, Don (Patty) Mayo; sons, Phil (Sunny) Snyder, Shun Snyder and Dan (Linda) Baldwin; daughters, Susan (Patrick) Kenehan, Kathy Snyder; grandchildren, Angela Keller, Dawn Fordham, Courtney Griffith, Brooke (Emanuel) Vallejo, Justin Snyder; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Griffith, Trey Snyder, Emanuel Vallejo, Dallas and Keith Mayo, Dale Owen and Austin Cochran.gements under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Gadsden, AL.
