Glenn Charles Walker

Glenn Charles Walker, age 76, of Guntersville, Alabama passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021. Funeral service will be 12:30 pm on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Collier Butler Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bob Hundley will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier Butler Funeral Home will direct services.

Glenn was born in Gadsden and attended Etowah High School and Jacksonville State University. He finished in the Top Ten of the Computer Science School. He began his career at NCS (National Computer Systems) at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville and later worked at Intergraph. He continued working in the computer field until his retirement several years ago.

Throughout his life he was an active man and enjoyed tennis, golf, Nascar racing, motorcycles (dirt bikes), car shows, and traveling. He was an avid University of Alabama Football fan. He also loved animals, especially his dogs Penny and Gabby.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Ralph Walker and Gladys Mable Jones Walker and sister, Patricia Walker Farrow.

He is survived by his children Kim Jenkins (Wayne), Kenny Walker, and Krista Autwell (Gary); grandchildren Matthew England, Kara Howard (Bart), Andrew England, Matthew Bolton (Stephanie), Chad Bolton, Ashleigh Ellis (David), and Madison Autwell; great grandchildren Dalton Elliott, Kayleigh Howard, and Brylee Howard; siblings, Kathy Johnson, Regina Walker, and Jim Walker (Julie); many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to express their special thanks to those who helped care for their Dad; especially Heartlite Hospice Care and sitters Kim Cornelius, Valla Slaton, Tenina Moore, Peggy Staton, Judy Simpson, and Jane Childress.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:30 am until the hour of service at 12:30pm.
