Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Glenda Garner Elliott, age 79, of Rainbow City who passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021. Rev. Kenneth Lasseter will officiate, with burial at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Mrs. Elliott was a native and resident of Etowah and Cherokee Counties and retired from Alabama Rehabilitation Services after many years of service. She was a 1959 graduate of Etowah High School and graduated from Gadsden Business College.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby R. Elliott; parents, Grady and Margaret Garner; and brothers, David and Dan Garner.
She is survived by her sons, Tim (Elizabeth) Elliott of Gadsden, Mark (Joy) Elliott of Centre, and Rev. Philip (Ann) Elliott of Gadsden; grandchildren, Laura Elliott of Gadsden; Megan (Nathan) Williams of Gadsden, Matthew (Laurie) Elliott of Tuscaloosa, Michael (Shaelyn) Elliott of Arden, NC, Troy (Holly) Elliott of Gadsden, and Tyler (Kendall) Elliott of Gadsden; sister, Geneva (Larry) Huff of Gadsden; great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Millie and Brewer Elliott and Elliott Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family extends a special thanks to Judy Collins, Mamie Stone, Peggy Peppers, Mary Holderfield and Jean Character for being friends as well as caregivers for many years.
Visitation will precede the service from 11:00am-12:00pm at the funeral home.
