Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 6th, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. George Robert Hundley Sr., 93, of Gadsden, who passed away Saturday, January 3rd, 2015. Rev. Mark Smith, Rev. Phil Hundley, Rev. Bob Hundley, and Rev. Matt Rose will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Mr. Hundley was born May 6, 1921 in Akron, Ohio and moved to Gadsden in 1928. He served his country in the United States Air Corps from 1943 to 1945. He owned and operated Hundley Interiors in Gadsden for 41 years. He was a member of The Board of Directors of South Trust Bank for 31 years, member of the Gadsden Kiwanis Club, member of the Board of Trustees of Camp Sumatanga, in Gallant, AL, and one of the founders of the Gadsden Center for Cultural Arts. He was the first Revenue Commissioner for Etowah County, member of the Alabama State Republican Executive Committee, and North Alabama Conference Lay Leader and Delegate to General Conference of UMC. Mr. Hundley was a member of Attalla First UMC for over 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Julia Phillips Hundley; parents, Raymond Bryan Hundley and Helen Smith Hundley; sister, Marjorie Hundley Wilson.
Mr. Hundley is survived by his wife, Harriet Barber Hundley; children, Bob (Laura) Hundley, Phil (Nedra) Hundley, Julie (Tommy) Terrell, Todd (Kathy) Barber, Amy (Tony) Fuller; grandchildren, Philip and Nathaniel Hundley, Juliann Terrell, Elizabeth (Jeremy) Robertson, Hudson Terrell, Sloan (Kendall) Bunton, Brent (Kathy) Bunton, Ryan and Carson Fuller; great grandchildren, Kieran, Julia, Christopher, Taegan, Blaise and Brodie.
Pallbearers will be Bob Gunther, Bill Pevsner, Bob Sisson (his bridge group) and John Day, Gil Isbell, Billy Vance, Donald Rhea, Charles O’Rear (members of the Attalla FUMC Choir).
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Mac Owens, Dr. J. Todd Cross, Mr. Jim Martin, Judge Roy Moore, Judge Bill Rhea, and Richard Rhea.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Sumatanga or the Attalla First UMC Choir Fund.

The family will accept friends Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m., prior to the service.
