Franklin Lee Ledford

Franklin Lee Ledford, 80, of Southside, AL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Athens, Tennessee. He retired from the City of Gadsden and was an auctioneer with Larry Thomas Auction Company. He was a faithful member of White Springs Baptist Church.

Mr. Ledford was preceded in death by his father, Lon Frank Ledford; mother, Velma Carter Ledford; brothers, Paul Henry Ledford and Roy Lee Ledford; and sisters, Leona Powell and Joyce Swafford.

He is survived by his wife, Deidra Ledford; children, April Tallent, Angie (Brian) Helms, and Joel Ledford; grandchildren, Anna Katherine Tallent, Colton (Brooke) Helms, Chole Ledford, and Cade Ledford; brothers, Harvey (Helen) Ledford, Benny Ledford, and David Ledford; and sister, Alice Shipley.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024 at the Collier-Butler Chapel. Dr. Chris Terrell will officiate. Mr. Ledford will be laid to rest at Williams Southside Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will accept friends from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
