Frances T. Jones

Funeral services will at 1:00 pm Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Frances T. Jones, age 86, of Glencoe, who passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016. Rev. Loyd Watkins and Rev. Kenneth Jacobs will officiate. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mrs. Jones was a lifelong resident of Glencoe and a member of Pine Gove Baptist Church. She retired from the Gadsden City School system having worked for many years at Disque as a “lunchroom lady”. Mrs. Jones was a master cook and loved nothing better than fellowshipping around a full dinner table. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, canning, and freezing vegetables from the garden. . She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Earl “Brown” Jones; parents, Amos and Victoria Thompson; sisters, Lula Cleveland, Ollie Griffin, Irma Stewart, Edna Schatz; and brother, James Thompson.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Bobby) Eller of Southside; son, Ken (Pat) Jones of Boaz; grandsons, Whitt (Jamie) Jones, and Chris (Crystal) Bohannon; great-grandchildren, Joslynn and Brielle Jones, and Brantley Bohannon; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She will be will be missed by all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be Chris Bohannon, Doug Jones, Lummie Jones, Whitt Jones, Jerry McDowell, Gary Rhodes, and Kevin Thompson.

Honorary pallbearer is Larry W. Thompson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pine Grove Shut-In Food Ministry, 910 Green Valley Rd, Glencoe, AL 35905.

Special thanks to Alacare Hospice and caregivers, Denise, Joann, Nicole, and Shalanda. Also, a special thanks to her dear friend of over 50 years, Mrs. Lee McDowell.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
