Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Meadowbrook Church for Elsie Demerice Crowe, Southside, who passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024. Rev. Randy Gunter will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery. Collier Butler Funeral Home will direct services.
Elsie was born in Gadsden to Herman "Sam" and Ruby Crowe. She was a lifelong resident of Southside and a graduate of Southside High School. She attended Jacksonville State University. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was employed by Anniston Army Depot for 43 years, 8 months. Elsie was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman "Sam" and Ruby Crowe; and her brother, Charles "Tommy" Crowe.
She is survived by her sister Sharon C. Draper (David); nephew, Scott Draper; niece, Kellie Weathington; great nieces, Brooklyn and Ashlyn Draper (J. C. Gutierrez); great nephew, Jaxon Draper; and great- great nephew, Sebastian Gutierrez.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Meadowbrook Church.
Pallbearers will be Keith Bearden, Harry Cagle, Tim Dail, Jaxon Draper, Lynn Padgett, and J.C. Gutierrez.
