Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Dorothy Nell Usry Phillips, age 85, of Southside, who passed away Friday, April 21, 2107. Rev. Carrie Kramer Jones, Rev. Andy Yarnell, and Rev. Lauil Thompson will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. She was a 1949 graduate of Southside high School and attended Berry College in Rome, GA. Dorothy was a member of Southside United Methodist Church. She loved gardening and working with her flowers. Her family was her life. She loved them very much and they loved her very much in return.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, James D. and Ethel Bailey Usry; sister, Floreine Lankford; and brothers, Henry, Leonard, Charles, and Robert Usry.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years and sweetheart of 76 years, Billy Phillips; daughter, Renee (Glenn) Summerlin; son, Stan (Diane) Phillips; grandchildren, Drew Phillips and Juliane Phillips; sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn Usry, Billie Usry, and Belle Fuhrman; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Southside United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
