Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Taylor Bradford, 76, of Southside, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Collier-Butler Chapel. Burial will follow at Bristow Cemetery, Duck Springs. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Mrs. Bradford passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016.
She was a former cosmetic consultant with Lane/Rexall Drugs as well as a sales associate for Gregerson Foods. Mrs. Bradford was an avid gardener, seamstress and homemaker. She was a Christian by faith and was a member of the Church of God. She was deeply committed to her family, enjoyed sitting with the elderly, and helping those in need.
Mrs. Bradford was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lavear Bradford, Sr.; son, Grady Lavear Bradford, Jr.; and sisters, Sarah and Linda.
She is survived by her children, Carol (Bill) Brodeur of Southside and Regina (Ben) Cox of Campbellsville, KY; grandchildren, Brad (Janet) Wilson and Jason Wilson both of Gadsden, Amory (Trevor) Cox Scott of Nashville, TN, Taylor (Morgan) Cox of Lexington, KY, and Grant Cox of Lexington, KY; great-grandchildren, Keller and Miles Wilson of Gadsden; sister, Jeri Jernigan of Texas; brother, Wally (Nancy) Taylor of Georgia; and sister-in-laws, Doris Bradford Vinyard of Gadsden, Mildred Bradford Welch of South Carolina, and Pat Bradford of Virginia; brother-in-law, Jimmy Greene of Georgia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brad Wilson, Jason Wilson, Taylor Cox, Grant Cox, Brock Taylor, and Trevor Scott.
Special thank you to Dr. Ben Carr, M.D., the staff of Gadsden Regional Medical Center, numerous sitters, and Monica Bohannon for the love and tenderness shown to our mother.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
