Donnie Ray Chumley, age 76, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 13, 2021.
Donnie was born on August 24, 1945. Mr. Chumley served in the Army Reserves for 6 years. He worked at Gulf States Steel for 34 years until it closed in 2000. He belonged to AL Horseshoe Pitchers Association and won the state championship in 1997. Mr. Chumley loved his family more than life and will be deeply missed.
Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Debra Johns Chumley; brother, Ronnie (Judy) Chumley; son, Matt Chumley; daughter, Kelli (Scott) Lowman; grandsons, Gage Lowman and Cole Baugh; and his special canine friend, Ladybug.
The family will be celebrating his life privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for family and friends to make donations to the American Lung Association or the Etowah County Humane Society.
