Funeral services will be at 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 11, at the Natural Amphitheater adjacent to the Noccalula Falls Chapel for David Maxwell Cochran, Jr. (Max), 19, of Gadsden, who passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jerry Waits. Pastor Kyle Cantrell will officiate. Arrangements under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services.
Max was born November 9, 1998. He was a 2017 graduate of Gadsden City High School. He had a passion for anything involving the outdoors, especially Noccalula Falls. He loved to hike, rock-climb, and whitewater raft. In contrast, he was an avid video gamer. Max enjoyed weight training but could also be found spending a lazy afternoon in his hammock. He spent his childhood and youth as a member of Dwight Baptist Church. As a young adult, he joined The Church of the Highlands.
Max is survived by his parents, David and Kelly Cochran; sister, Callie Cochran; grandparents, JoAnn Waits and Max and Marolyn Cochran; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; girlfriend, Teah Landress; and special friends, Charles Brown, Jeff Freeman, Craig Hines, and Ryan McRae.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at the Noccalula Falls Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Church of the Highlands Outreach Ministries, 948 Gilbert Ferry Road, SE, Attalla, Alabama 35954.
