Charles "Jerry" Parker, Sr. (also known as Blackout) age 89, of Rainbow City, Alabama passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021. A Memorial Service will be held 1pm Friday, June 25, 2021, at Collier Butler Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the serve. Collier Butler Funeral Home will direct services.
Jerry had retired from the US Air Force after 25 years of service to his country. After his military service he worked with LTV Steel Plant until retirement. He then worked with the City of Gadsden as a transport drive for 10 years.
He served his Lord as deacon with his church. He enjoyed Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball. He loved dogs and babies; and most importantly loved his country.
He is preceded in death by his son Joey Parker; parents Lucy and Jake Parker; and brother Bill Parker.
He is survived by his wife Jean Hall Parker; sons Jerry and wife Wendy Parker and Jett Parker; grandchildren Daniel, Logan, Dakota, Shelly, Ryan and Tyler; and great grandson Kascade Jett.
Charles "Jerry" was born March 18, 1932.
