Funeral services will Monday, July 30th, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Catherine “Dee” Vinyard, 87, of Rainbow City. Dr. Michael Yopp will officiate with burial to follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Vinyard went home to be with our Lord on Friday, July 27, 2012. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Vinyard was a member of White Springs Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. She was an LPN and was the office nurse for Dr. Ben Steinberg and Dr. Norris Steinberg for 33 years. Mrs. Vinyard was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Woman’s Club.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie Vinyard and his wife Lisa of Rainbow City; granddaughters, Allison (Brian) Therrien and Bethany (Brandon) Yopp; nieces, Carolyn (Larry) Sizemore, Patsy Hamilton, Brenda (Arnold) Norton, Sandra (Wendell) Qualls, and Shelia Elam; nephews, Leon Hare, Harvey Fail, Curtis (Peggy) Fail, Danny (Anita) Dillard, Bobby (Mona) Monk, and Vondell Chamblee; and many special friends.
Mrs. Vinyard is preceded in death by her husband, L.N. Vinyard, Jr.; her parents, Alfred Darwood Fail and Annie Ozella Wheeler Fail and step-mother, Lura Fail; her brothers, Willie C. Fail, Alfred Fail, and Junson Fail; and her sisters, Annie Ruth Hare, Francis Hamilton, Dorothy Norris, and Genette Dillard.
Pallbearers will be Leon Hare, Harvey Fail, Curtis Fail, Arnold Norton, Wendell Qualls, Larry Sizemore, and Vondell Chamblee.
Special thanks to Dr. Tom Corley and his office staff, Gadsden Regional Hospice Group, and her wonderful sitters; Sharon Wagner, Carolyn Bates, Charity Haney, Joy Smith, and Angie Duncan.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services in Gadsden.
