Carolyn Ann Willoughby Mullins, 75 years old, was born on December 17, 1946. She was a lifelong resident of Gadsden and a proud graduate of Emma Sansom High School Class of 1965. Mrs. Mullins went home to her Jesus early Sunday morning, January 23, 2022. Memorial services honoring her will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home in Gadsden. The family welcomes visitation between 12-2PM and her chapel service will begin at 2PM. Burial will be at Fairview Baptist Church. The family respects social distancing practices and also honors the choice to refrain from attending public gatherings currently. Her longtime friend Pastor Ernest Dorries and special family friend Pastor Newman Voss will be officiating.
Mrs. Mullins was a wonderful mother, mawmaw, mimi, and was a dedicated homemaker her entire life. She recently enjoyed connecting with friends and family through Facebook even though the digital world was overwhelming at times. She loved her family with her entire heart and soul. She loved nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was so proud of each of them. She was a loving and committed wife to her late husband of fifty-two years. She loved feeding her birds the good bird seed and tending to her flowers and plants. She absolutely loved God’s beautiful sunsets and sunrises and we know she is forever enjoying them from Heaven with the ones she loves. The ocean was her happy place and holds special memories of her. She always looked forward to the fall colors and loved to see the leaves change. She loved Christmas time and Christmas lights, her favorite song was “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem” and remembers her mother singing it to her. She attended many different church services online each week and loved finding Live Gospel singings. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Her friends and family all know of her lifelong affection of Elvis. She made many friendships and connections with other fellow fans through the years and have many special memories celebrating his life and music.
Mrs. Mullins was preceded in death by her husband Don Mullins, her son Marc Mullins, and her grandson Kane Mullins,and her beloved parents Rufus and Elva Willoughby, as well as her good friends Mone Dorries and Jean Stanfield.
Mrs. Mullins is survived by her son Steve (Vicky) Mullins and daughter Maria (Robert) Eagly. Her grandbabies are Brad Mullins, Chassidy Taylor, Erick (Michelle) Taylor, Bobby Mullins, Kailey Anna Eagly, Alli Jade Eagly, Maddox Eagly,Katie Grace Mullins, Kason Mullins, and great-grandbabies Jacob Taylor, Kayden Mullins, Isabella Mullins, and Ryleigh Mullins. She was blessed with a lifetime of close friends and family who are left to cherish her memory.
Pallbearers will be her son Steve Mullins, son-in-love Robert Eagly, chosen son Bill Brady Jr. grandsons Brad Mullins, Erick Taylor, and Bobby Mullins. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Maddox Eagly, Jacob Taylor, and great grandsons Kason and Kayden Mullins.
Mrs. Mullins loved all types of flowers, and her family will accept them in her honor, but also requests that you plant one in remembrance of her at your home.
Despite the many adversaries and losses in her life, she lived and loved beautifully. She has left a beautiful legacy for her children and grandchildren to remember her, and she is already greatly missed. “His mercy and grace are new each morning, great is your faithfulness” Lamentations 3:23
